Magalies Water is able to conduct the operational monitoring and management of potable water or wastewater treatment plants on behalf of entities – who do not have the internal capacity to do so.

Our services are tailored to each client’s unique needs, but the below is an outline of the typical elements that will be included – in such a process.

Sampling and analyses of source water…

Source water, as well as the treated and distributed water from all treatment plants – is sampled and analysed. This is done according to a predetermined weekly schedule – that provides for sampling and analysis on a frequent basis.

Monitoring of catchment areas…

Catchment areas are also monitored to identify possible sources of pollution. All analyses are carried out by qualified plant operators.

Examining of chemical dosing…

In addition, chemical dosages are monitored constantly by plant operators – to ensure correct and optimum dosage of coagulant and disinfection chemicals. Stock counts of treatment chemicals are done daily and reported to the plant manager. This helps to ensure that stock levels are always kept above the minimum level – and that chemicals are available at all times.

Real-time analysis of final treated water…

[vc_separator type=”small” position=”right” color=”#005777″ transparency=”” thickness=”2″ width=”14″ width_in_percentages=”yes” up=”30″ down=”30″]

Online analysers examine the final treated water – to monitor critical parameters like turbidity and pH and chlorine levels.

These analysers sample and measure the final water quality every two minutes – and the data is immediately sent to the control-room operator. This provides an early warning system in addition to the scheduled analysis – that is done by the plant operator.
